What is HPES

Hotel Performance Evaluation System undertakes to critically assess all the guest contact services the hotel has to offer against the standards used by the world’s best and most efficient hotel chains.

How does it work

Senior hotel professionals specially trained in carrying out quality assessment work stay at the hotel under review in the guise of high profile guests and sample all the services the hotel has to offer beginning right from reservation, to airport pick up, stay at the hotel and till the final check out.

On completion of the assessment i.e. in about two nights and three days the deputed officials disclose their identity and meet the Head of the Operations to verbally brief him about the evaluation of the hotel. The final detailed report is submitted to the management with in two weeks of completion of the assessment process.

Operational areas under review:
  • Front office operations including Reservations, Airport pick up, arrival at the hotel, bell desk operations, concierge, check in, settling down into the room, stay at the hotel and final0 check out.
  • Food and Beverage operations from Room service to all restaurants, bars, discos etc.
  • Upkeep of the guest rooms, housekeeping services including laundry.
  • Functioning of all equipment and gadgets in the guest rooms and other public areas designed and installed for guest use.
  • Other guest service areas like health club, swimming pool, recreation areas etc. All public relation functions
Time Frame

The evaluation process and the report shall take about four weeks from the date of appointment. After the assignment is awarded officials shall make a reservation, check in at the hotel, complete the evaluation process and finally submit the written report.
